What is Samyama yoga?
Samyama yoga adheres to classical yoga—it has no religious associations and follows the dual philosophy of Patanjali, incorporating the time honoured techniques for the individual to develop the ability to be with any person, anywhere, at any time, and feel in good with themselves (kaivalya). These techniques are based on the eight limbs of classical yoga, learning physical yoga for better health and extending this to encourage mental health.
This is achieved through the teaching of:
- Physical yoga exercises (hatha yoga) (all classes).
- Partner assisted stretching techniques (all classes)
- Dietary recommendations for students (all classes).
- Using natural medicines for health (all classes).
- Using acupuncture points for health (advanced classes).
- Classical meditation—refinement of pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, samadhi (advanced classes).
